Paulson At The 92nd Street Y

I would like to go to this but do I really need to pay $27 bucks to hear how Paulson sold out America to save not only Goldman Sachs but also General Electric?

It should be a rockin crowd. Hundreds of beneficiaries of Mr. Paulson's shadow generosity. I am surprised that Tim Geithner is not introducing him to the Wall Street Bonus Baby Crowd.

What's really ironic is that Jeffrey Immelt is moderating the event. Is this the same Immelt who on Sept 14Th 2008 made the public statement that GE's Commercial Paper business was "Robust"? OK. So why in Paulson's book it looks like on Sept. 15Th, Paulson was "startled" to see Immelt make an appearance at his office and state that GE was having issues in the CP market?

This revelation in Paulson's book prompted Immelt to state that he "does not believe" that Paulson and himself discussed GE's CP problem. Sure. Immelt went over to Paulson's office to talk Monday Morning Quarterback? Talk about Fantasy Football.

Will Immelt bring this up? Will Paulson quote from his book?
Probably not. Wink. Wink.

I would probably think that GE has a legal problem here? I would not be surprised to see Mary Shapiro at the SEC just fine GE the $27 bucks for the price of admission. Andrew Cuomo will looking very closely as he seems to be the only one who believes in accountability.

Paulson's book probably offers some explosive revelations. The fiercely religious Jesus Freak had many sleepless nights trying to figure out how to screw the taxpayer.

I find it funny that Paulson's book doesn't bring up the fact that Paulson had secret meetings with his buddies on the Goldman Sachs board earlier that June. That was the revelation that was found in Andrew Ross Sorkin's Too Big To Fail.

This whole 92ST Y exercise will be a disgrace. No tough questions will be asked. Its just other millionaires shelling out $27 to hear how they were bailed out by the frogs of society.
