Listen. Everyone knows Obama increased the surge in Afghanistan by 17,000 troops only to appease the right. He just didn't want blood on his hands if in the event of another domestic tragedy. Its classic hedging with real peoples lives, this is what politician do.
The fighting in Afghanistan has increased ahead of the elections, partly because the current US backed government is more corrupt than the Taliban ever was. The Taliban has gotten very sophisticated with getting the masses over to their side in that country. Our strategy is simply not working.
